Cupcake Wars: Drive-Thru Edition
This event took place on April 24th, 2021, where participants bought a ticket to receive 4 mini cupcakes from various bakeries in the surrounding area. Once the cupcakes were in possession of the attendees they were asked to vote on which cupcake was their favorite. All proceeds were sent to the homeless shelter in Johnson County - Shelter House
My role within the project was to control our budgeting and obtain sponsorships/donations. I also was in contact with the bakeries, ordered the cupcakes, and picked up the bakery goods the day of the event. I helped as much as I could outside of my assigned tasks to help towards the success of the event.
From this event alone we raised $1,872.58 for Shelter house - we had 63 ticket sales, and we stayed within our $150 budget. With the money raised we helped Shelter House provide necessities to those in need and progressed their growth in purchasing more beds to expand their housing numbers.
